Boneo Buzz: Friday 6th September
Dear Parents and Carers,
Last night, our Year 6 students were exceptional in their performance of ‘Finding Nemo’. I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for their incredible dedication, hard work, and talent that made the production such a resounding success. Thank you to our Year 6 students for performing so well – all of the work leading up to the night was clearly visible and the audience enjoyed every moment.
The amount of time and effort that goes into a production such as this one is well noted, and I thank everyone who was involved in this year’s production. From organising costumes, making props, music; rehearsals; everything came together so well on the night and we couldn’t be more proud.

Snapshot of Learning
Year 6 Production – Finding Nemo
On Thursday the Year 6 students performed their musical Finding Nemo to the rest of the school. Then they backed this up by performing to family and friends on Thursday night! We are incredibly proud of the students and their efforts. A huge thank you to Ms Sison for her work in bringing the show together. We would also like to acknowledge the parents and guardians and let them know how grateful we are for your contribution in making/sourcing costumes.
TREC Week 6-Island Survivor Games
Outdoor Education students engaged in an Island Survivor Challenge. Students were allocated random groups by selecting a ‘buff’ (head scarf) and needed to complete challenges working cooperatively in their teams. Skills required to complete the challenge were: creativity, problem solving, reasoning, justification for choices in the game and cooperation.
A huge thank you to the Year 4 helpers-Abigail, Tilly, Harrison, Jet, Jude and Walter and Pauline (ES) for the additional support to ensure the activity was successful!
Year 4 District Lawn Bowls Championships
Last Friday a group of Year 4 students competed in the Annual District Lawn Bowls Championships at Sorrento Lawn Bowls Club.
Our students were split into three teams, all with the chance to be crowned District Champions, playing four matches against other local schools. They also received a coaching session beforehand from the club’s expert bowlers.
Our teams represented our school fantastically, showing respect and great sportsmanship throughout.
Out of 24 teams, Team 1 won three games and drew one, finishing 2nd overall which was incredible. Team 2 won two and lost two and finished 11th with Team 3 winning one, drawing one and losing two.
Overall lawn bowls was the winner on the day!
Photos are of our Year 4 lawn bowlers and of Team 1 who finished second.
YEAR 5 TREC
Year 5 students engaged in Forest School activities, sharing their connections with nature and each other. Students shared stories, worked collaboratively, and built on creative thinking and reasoning. Students were excited to share reflections of their learning, developing their skills in speaking and listening.
