End of Year Picnic

Students and staff have been actively preparing for our End-of-Year Picnic celebration, scheduled for Wednesday, 11 December on our undercover Basketball Court. Our dedicated School Council will be hosting a complimentary ‘Sausage sizzle’ to begin the evening, ensuring a delicious start to the festivities, and families are welcome to bring their own ‘picnic’.

To help ensure a successful evening for all, please support us by:

  • adhering to the seating plan so that people who will be sitting on picnic rugs on the ground are closest to the stage with those on chairs sitting behind them in the allocated area.
  • reminding your children that they are to sit with their class for the duration of the evening. Once students have performed, they will return with their class to the area allocated to them and remain with their class under the supervision of their teacher.
  • seeing the classroom teacher at the end of the evening to collect your child.

We look forward to seeing you all!

Camp information 2025

As families begin to budget and plan for next year, we thought it would be beneficial to give parents and carers advance notice of the dates and approximate costs for camps in 2025. Camp costs have increased significantly over the last few years due to increases to the cost of buses, catering, venue prices and camp staff.

Please note that these are approximate costs based on 2024 costings and may vary next year.

Camp Name

Approximate cost

(based on 2024 prices)

Dates
Year 2 Sleepover $20 14 November
Year 3 Camp – The Ranch $200 4 and 5 September
Year 4 Camp – Golden Valleys $365 15 October to 17 October
Year 5 Camp – Urban Camp $430 29 April to 2 May
Year 6 Camp – Wilson’s Promontory $395 5 May to 8 May

Health and Hygiene

Over the past week, we have had students presenting with gastrointestinal symptoms. To help minimise the spread, additional cleaning has been completed, and the advice we have received from the health department is to increase handwashing. Everyone should wash their hands thoroughly with soap and warm running water for at least 15 seconds. Thank you for supporting us by reminding children of this.

Snapshot of Learning

Library Books

A reminder to all families to make sure you look at home, on bookshelves, in their bedrooms for any library books that your child/ren may have borrowed and return them to school as soon as possible.

State Softball Finals

Last Monday, the Year 6 Boys softball team travelled to Waverley Softball Centre to compete at the State Championships. The boys won two out of their three games, narrowly missing the final. With praise from opposing parents, coaches and umpires,  the boys should be very proud of their achievements throughout the whole tournament.
A special mention to Harry, Raf and Max for their excellent batting skills. To Angus for his superb bowling. To Harrison and Koa for being reliable catchers. To Brax and Luca, for never letting anyone get past 1st and 2nd base, and to Kye, Will and Matiu for their insane catching skills in both the in and outer field. You all supported each other throughout the whole competition, and it was incredible to watch you all grow as a team in your final year.
A big thankyou to all staff and parents who supported this team throughout the year, we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.
