Boneo Buzz 7th November
Dear Parents and Carers,
Yesterday, we came together to celebrate one of Boneo Primary School’s most eagerly awaited events – Oaks Day. This special occasion has grown into a beloved celebration of style, community and fun, offering a lively way to support our school. There’s something truly distinctive about our Oaks Day that makes it a highlight of the year and a tradition we all look forward to.
I’m delighted that this event brings together our whole community – families, staff, local residents and the many generous local businesses who offer their support. It’s this collective spirit that strengthens our sense of connection and shared purpose, and we are truly thankful to everyone who played a part. Oaks Day remains one of our most important fundraising events, and the generosity shown makes a real difference. The funds raised will directly support our commitment to providing outstanding learning experiences by helping us enhance programs, initiatives and resources for our students which are otherwise not funded.
I look forward to sharing with you how much we were able to raise for our school.
Calling on parents and carers for our School Review Forum
As part of our School Review process, we’re inviting parents and carers to participate in a Parent Forum. This will be held onsite at the school on Tuesday, 18 November at 8:45am and will run for approximately 30 minutes.
If you’re available and would like to take part, please contact the office at your earliest convenience to book your spot.
Volunteers required for November and December Markets
I’m seeking volunteers to assist with the November and December markets, helping with either the car parking or BBQ stall. These markets are an important fundraiser for our school and depend on the generous support of our community. If you’re able to give some of your time, please contact the office or book a spot via the ‘Conferences’ option on Compass.
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day in Australia is observed on November the 11th to commemorate all Australians who have died or suffered in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. It marks the end of World War 1, occurring at 11am on November 11th 1918. Australians are encouraged to pause for one minute of silence at 11am to honour and reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have served. At Boneo PS we will have a small service prior to 11am with students pausing for one minute of silence to show their respect .
