Boneo Buzz 5th December
Dear Parents and Carers,
End of Year Picnic
Students and staff have been actively preparing for our End-of-Year Picnic celebration, scheduled for Wednesday, 10 December on our undercover Basketball Court. Our dedicated School Council will be hosting a complimentary ‘Sausage sizzle’ to begin the evening, ensuring a delicious start to the festivities, and families are welcome to bring their own ‘picnic’ keeping in mind this is a dry event. We will also have, ‘Sunny Boyy’ food van onsite if families wish to purchase drinks and choc tops.
To help ensure a successful evening for all, please support us by:
- following the seating plan so that people who will be sitting on picnic rugs on the ground are closest to the stage with those on chairs sitting behind them in the allocated area.
- reminding your children that they are to sit with their class for the duration of the evening. Once students have performed, they will return with their class to the area allocated to them and remain with their class under the supervision of their teacher and education support staff.
- seeing the classroom teacher at the end of the evening to collect your child.
We look forward to seeing you all.

School Lawn Bowls Championships
During the past few weeks during lunchtimes the house captains have assisted Mr Greening in running our annual School Lawn Bowls Championships, where 142 year 3-6 students participated this year, which is amazing.
After many rounds and lots of close matchups our final 4 were as follows with Marley H winning the competition to secure his fourth school championship (darts x 2 and badminton x 1).
1st Marley H
2nd Blake S
3rd Kira D
4th Charlie H
These students will be presented with their ribbons at our final assembly of the year.
This week we are currently running our annual School Darts Championship with many fantastic matches taking place on the oche’s. We had 138 entries for this year and will update with our top 4 in next week’s Buzz.
A huge thankyou to our amazing house captains who have done a brilliant job in assisting Mr Greening in running our many sports events and lunchtime competitions throughout 2025.
Year 6 Lacrosse
Last week the Year 6 students ventured to Fawkner Park to compete in the Lacrosse State Championships. Lots of laughs, goals scored, and learning took place and both the students and staff had a great day out. Thank you to everyone that helped get us to this stage.
Our Year 6 Garden Group Shines in Sustainable Scarecrow Competition
Over the past month, the Year 6 Garden Group has been hard at work designing and creating a scarecrow entirely from recycled materials for the Rosebud Community Garden Sustainable Scarecrow Competition. Students collected materials, brainstormed creative ideas, and collaborated every step of the way to bring their vision to life.
Their final creation, proudly named “Bin Girl,” is a wonderful example of teamwork, imagination, and environmental awareness.
Well done to all involved – what an outstanding effort!
