Boneo Buzz 26th June

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of Term 2, it is wonderful to reflect on the learning growth and achievements of our students. Student reports were shared with families yesterday, providing an opportunity to celebrate the progress students have made and highlight the next steps in their learning journey.

Student reports are an important part of our partnership with families. They provide a snapshot of each child’s learning, effort, strengths and areas for continued growth. We encourage families to take the time to read through reports with their child, celebrate their achievements and discuss the goals they can continue to work towards.

Next term, we will also hold our Parent Teacher Interviews. These conversations are a valuable opportunity for families and teachers to connect, discuss student progress and work together to support each child’s learning and wellbeing. While reports provide a written reflection of learning, interviews allow for a deeper conversation about your child’s individual strengths, successes, challenges and the ways we can continue to support them moving forward.

At Boneo, we believe that strong relationships between students, families and staff are key to helping every child thrive. Parent Teacher Interviews are not only about discussing where students are currently at, but also about celebrating their growth and creating shared goals for the future.

Thank you to all of our families for your ongoing support, encouragement and partnership throughout Term 2. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and working together in Term 3.

Term 3 Attendance Challenge – Let’s Aim High!

We are excited to launch our Term 3 Attendance Challenge and invite all students to set themselves a goal of achieving 95% attendance or above next term! By making every day count, students are giving themselves the best chance to achieve their goals and enjoy all the learning experiences Term 3 has to offer.

At the end of Term 3, students who achieve 95% attendance or above will be recognised and celebrated at our end of term assembly.

This is their chance to set a goal, stay committed and aim high! We can’t wait to celebrate all of the students who rise to the challenge.

Please remember, if you need any support with attendance, we are here to help. We encourage families to reach out to us at school so we can work together to support your child’s attendance. You can also refer back to previous newsletters for information about services and supports available to families.

Farewell and Congratulations to Hollee Gray

Today we say farewell to Hollee Gray. Throughout her time at Boneo as an Education Support staff member, Hollee has also been studying to become a teacher, and it has been inspiring to watch her grow in confidence, knowledge and skill. Her dedication to learning and her passion for education have been clear in everything she has done. We are thrilled that all of her hard work has led to her securing a teaching position – a wonderful achievement and one that is so well deserved.

While we are sad to see Hollee leave our team, we are incredibly proud of her and excited to see the positive impact she will have on her own students. We know she will bring the same care, enthusiasm and commitment to her classroom that she has shared with our Boneo students.

Thank you, Hollee, for everything you have contributed to our school. We wish you every success as you embark on this next adventure – your future students are very lucky to have you! Here is a message from Hollee.

As I prepare to finish my time at Boneo, I wanted to take a moment to thank our wonderful students, families, and staff for making my experience here so special.

Over my time at Boneo, I have had the privilege of working with many incredible students and families, and it has been a joy to be part of such a caring and supportive school community. I have loved getting to know the students, celebrating their achievements, and watching them learn and grow.

I am excited to be beginning a new chapter in my career as I move into a classroom teaching role. While I am looking forward to this opportunity, I will certainly miss being part of the Boneo community and all the wonderful people who make it such a special place.

Thank you to all the students for the smiles, laughter, and memorable moments, and to families for your kindness and support throughout my time at the school.

I wish everyone at Boneo all the very best for the future and look forward to hearing about the many successes and achievements still to come.

Warm regards,

Hollee Gray

Music Camp

Last week, our school was once again proud to be involved in Music Camp alongside a number of local schools. Over three wonderful days, our students worked together to learn and rehearse a range of songs, building their confidence and celebrating their love of music.

The week culminated in a fantastic evening performance, which I had the pleasure of attending. It was wonderful to see our students shine on stage and celebrate the incredible effort they had put into their learning.

A huge thank you and congratulations to Libby Sison, who prepared our students for this experience. We are incredibly grateful for the passion, dedication and enthusiasm she brings to our music program.

We would also like to thank our families for their support in encouraging students to participate. Your support makes these opportunities possible and means so much to our students.

Congratulations to all of our students who participated – you represented our school beautifully.

Year 6 Market Day Success

Our Year 6 students recently held their much-anticipated Market Day, providing a wonderful opportunity for students to apply their learning in a real-world context. As part of their Financial Mathematics learning, students developed business ideas, planned budgets, considered costs, set prices and used their understanding of profit and loss statements to evaluate the success of their ventures.

It was fantastic to see our students demonstrate creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and entrepreneurial thinking as they brought their ideas to life. A huge thank you to all of our families for supporting the event, helping our students raise much-needed funds.

We are incredibly proud of the generosity shown by our Year 6 students, who have decided to share some of the raised funds with StoryDogs, a wonderful program that supports our Boneo students through the power of reading and connection with dogs. Funds will also be donated to a charity chosen by the students, with the remaining funds supporting their Year 6 Graduation celebrations.

Congratulations to our Year 6 students on a fantastic Market Day.

New Lunchtime Clubs Coming Next Term

We are excited to announce that we will be offering a range of new lunchtime clubs for students to participate in next term. These clubs will provide students with even more opportunities to connect, explore new interests, develop skills and enjoy positive experiences during their breaks.

The new lunchtime clubs will run alongside our Junior School Council lunchtime clubs, meaning there will be a fantastic variety of activities on offer for students across the school.

When students return next term, teachers will share the club timetable, including which clubs will run on each day, so students can start planning which activities they would like to be involved in.

We are looking forward to seeing our students get involved and make the most of these exciting
