Boneo Buzz: 17th March

Dear Parents and Carers,

Our Family Food & Fun Night major fundraising event is fast approaching. This event is a wonderful celebration of our school and extended community and we need your support to continue the success of this event. Last year, this event raised over $12,000 for our school.

Please support your child’s class stall by placing your name on their class roster. All teachers have a copy of the stall roster and each shift is only 30 minutes in duration, then you are free to enjoy the festivities. We understand that it can be a challenge for families with multiple children and appreciate the support our families continue to provide.

We can confirm Wittingslow Amusements will be offering the following rides on the night;

  • Bungy Tramp
  • Giant Inflatable Challenge
  • Cup & Saucer
  • Chair o Plane
  • Spiderman Activity Centre
  • Giant Ninja Slide

We have kept the cost of ride tickets unchanged from previous years and tickets are now available to purchase from the office.

  • Unlimited Ride Wristband – $25
  • Bungy Tramp – $6
  • All other Rides – $5

We encourage all families to bring along a picnic rug and enjoy the food and entertainment on the oval. There will be several food stalls or you are welcome to bring along your own picnic.

The event set up is an all-day affair. If you have free time during the day and would like to help out, please contact the office.
A reminder that on the day, students are invited to wear free dress for a Lucky Jar donation.
All children must be in the company of a supervising adult for the duration of the event.

NAPLAN

This week our Year 3 and Year 5 students started NAPLAN testing. I am so proud of the manner in which students have embraced the assessment and thank our staff for all their work in helping prepare our students. Assessments continue next week, with catch up sessions organised for any absent students.

Year 6 Camp

Our Year 6 students are off to Wilsons Promontory next week for their Year 6 camp. Staff and students are very excited about the range of activities, including the opportunity to camp in tents! A special thank you to our parent volunteers for supporting our students and staff to help make this a positive experience for all attending.

Introducing Sean Hewitt

We are pleased to introduce Sean Hewitt to our school community. Sean will joining us from Monday as Education Support. Sean has prepared the following introduction;

Living on the Mornington Peninsula my whole life, I’ve been blessed and fortunate enough to be able to play football and cricket all through my younger years in which I still play both now. Throughout my sporting career I’ve been given leadership roles which helped me realise, even at a young age, that I genuinely like helping people where I can. I believe it’s extremely special to be able to be a part of someone’s personal development.

In 2022, I decided to complete my Cert IV in Youth Work at RMIT. A few months after completing this certificate I’ve been very fortunate to be offered a role at Boneo Primary School. I’m super excited to take on this new role where I will be able to work alongside the students and other staff members to help develop the students into being their own unique capable young person.

Welcome baby Umbers

Congratulations to Chloe and Michael on the safe arrival of their baby boy ‘Flynn Hendrix Umbers’ on Thursday 16th March.

Welcome to the world Flynn. We cannot wait to meet you!
