Student safety

Ensuring the safety of our students and community is a priority. We kindly remind all families to follow safe practices during student drop-off and pick-up. Please ensure that children do not walk through the car park near the tennis courts. Additionally, if you are reversing out of a parking space, such as on Limestone Road, we ask that you take extra care to be mindful of pedestrians and other vehicles. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe.

Bringing valuables to school

To support our students and ensure their belongings are kept safe, I kindly request that valuable items remain at home. Children can become quite upset if their belongings are misplaced or damaged, and we want to help prevent any unnecessary distress. In particular, I ask that Posca Pens not be brought to school. These markers are quite expensive and are best suited for use at home.

After school training

We understand that some students, or their siblings, participate in basketball training after school, and we appreciate their enthusiasm and commitment. Please note that staff provide supervision in the yard until 3:30pm (an additional staff member supervises the Cape Schanck bus travellers until their 3.45pm pick up). After this time, any student remaining on school grounds must be supervised by an adult. To ensure the safety of all students, we kindly ask that children are not left unsupervised, including while waiting for siblings during training. Any child without supervision after 3:30pm will be brought to the office, and parents/carers will be contacted.

Thank you for your support in keeping our school a safe and caring environment for all students.

Previews to Learning – Compass

Each week, our teachers share a Preview to Learning via Compass, providing insights into the upcoming learning focus and any special events. I encourage you to make it a habit to review these updates and engage in conversations with your child about what they will be exploring in class. Your involvement helps reinforce their learning and builds excitement for the week ahead.

Harmony Day – Friday 21 March

Harmony Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our rich cultural diversity and show respect for everyone who calls Australia home. As part of this occasion, we will be including a special acknowledgment during our assembly next week.

Family Food and Fun Night

Get ready for an exciting evening at our Family Food and Fun Night on Friday 21st March! This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, and we need your support to make it truly memorable.

We urgently are in need of assistance with various aspects of the event. If you have some time to spare, your involvement will truly make a difference.

For those parents who have been involved in the planning of The Family Food and Fun Night there will be a meeting held on Wednesday 19th March at 9:00am, where we will discuss the details and ensure everyone is ‘on the same page’. Your input is crucial and greatly appreciated.

Wristbands will be available for purchase beginning Monday 17th March until 3pm on Friday 21st March for $25, which grants unlimited rides. Additionally, individual tickets will be available for $6 each. Tickets and wristbands will be available for purchase from 3.30 pm at the event.

If you have any donations for the silent auction, please ensure they are submitted to the office by Tuesday 18th March.

If you’re available to help on the stalls on Friday, please book via Compass Conferences or call the office.

We’re also looking for extra hands on both Thursday 20th March, and Friday 21st March. Please drop in if you can.

Please be aware cash (small dominations) is preferred as eftpos is limited.  As the event does not commence until 3.30 pm we ask parents to collect their child at the regular time. All children must be accompanied by an adult to attend the event.

Lastly, if you have a marquee, you can lend us for the day, we would be incredibly grateful. We will ensure that all bags and marquees are labelled and returned.

Our business community have again been amazing in their support of our school.

We’re looking forward to showcasing these amazing donations at our silent auction and creating an unforgettable experience for the lucky winners.

We wish to acknowledge ‘The Kitchen’ in Tootgarook (Coley Family) who are returning for another year on the Curry Stall. Bob and his staff are preparing the food and will be in attendance on the night for service. Please be sure to say hi to the ‘Kitchen’ team who will be in the hall and thank them for supporting our school.

A huge thank you to the following sponsors who are helping us out this year; Wittingslow Amusements, Enchanted Adventure, Moonlit Sanctuary, CAPT’N BREW, Will + Bear, Eagle- Arthurs Seat. Little Rebel, CURL Construction, The Ranch and D’Alia’s.

Grab your picnic blanket, gather your friends, and prepare for an unforgettable evening filled with fun, food and music!

Snapshot of Learning

Science Discovery Dome

This week the Year 1’s and 6’s were transported into space through the Science Discovery Dome incursion. Once inside, students learnt about the solar system, formation of the planets and how they orbit the sun.
