Boneo Buzz 28th August
Dear Parents and Carers,
There is a lot to celebrate in our 2026 Attitudes to School Survey results, with improvement recorded in 16 of the 18 measured areas as compared to our 2025 data. This is a wonderful result and provides strong evidence that the work we are doing together is having a positive impact on our students. These results reflect the work happening across our school every day – through purposeful planning, quality teaching, consistent routines, strong relationships, clear expectations and our continued focus on student engagement and wellbeing.
Importantly, these results are not the work of one person or one team. They are a reflection of our collective responsibility for creating the best possible learning and school experience for every student. When we move together, with a shared purpose and a clear focus, our efforts have an even greater impact.
Thank you to our staff, students and families for the role you each play in contributing to student learning and wellbeing.
Celebrating Book Week
Our school was transformed into a wonderful world of characters, stories and imagination, with students (and staff!), bringing some of their favourite books to life.
This year’s Book Week theme was “Symphony of Stories”, celebrating the way books bring together characters, ideas, adventures and emotions to create something truly special. Throughout the week, our students immersed themselves in stories, shared favourite books and enjoyed lots of opportunities to celebrate the joy of reading.
A huge thank you to our wonderful families for helping students create such fantastic costumes and for embracing the fun of Book Week. From clever homemade creations to much-loved characters, there was an incredible amount of creativity on display!
Most importantly, it was wonderful to see our students smiling, sharing their favourite characters and celebrating their love of books together.
Our Book Fair was also a wonderful success this week! Thank you to all our families for supporting the fair and encouraging a love of reading at home. There is something particularly special about a child choosing a book of their own and being excited to enjoy it.
We also loved welcoming families into classrooms for ‘Share the Joy of Learning’, providing an opportunity to see the wonderful learning taking place across our school.
A huge thank you to our staff for creating such engaging Book Week experiences and, most importantly, for continuing to nurture a genuine love of books and reading in our students.
Books open doors to new worlds, new ideas and new possibilities, and this week, Boneo Primary School was certainly filled with the wonderful symphony of stories!
Thank you to Rosebud Library
A very special thank you to the Rosebud Library for their generous donation of furniture to our school.
The furniture will help us create inviting reading nooks and flexible learning spaces across our library and classrooms, providing students with comfortable spaces to read, collaborate, learn and engage in their learning.
We are so grateful for your generosity and for your support in helping us create engaging and welcoming learning environments for our students.
Barn Dance – a night of community, fun and connection!
Our Barn Dance is just around the corner, Saturday 5 September, and we would love to see as many of our families as possible there!
The Barn Dance has been organised by our dedicated School Council as a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together, have some fun and enjoy a relaxed evening with family and friends.
And while there will certainly be plenty of dancing, the Barn Dance is so much more than dancing! There will be fun games, time to chat and catch up, and plenty of opportunities to connect with other families in our wonderful community. Whether you’re a keen dancer or prefer to enjoy the atmosphere from the sidelines, there will be something for everyone!
Students have brought a flyer home with all the event details. You can also find the flyer further down in this newsletter, as well as on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Tickets are available from the school office or online via TryBooking. Boneo Barn Dance Tickets, The Ranch, Boneo | TryBooking Australia
A huge thank you to our School Council for putting this event together. We hope to see you there for a fantastic night of laughter, games and community connection!
