Boneo Buzz 1st May
Dear Parents and Carers,
Last Friday, we had the privilege of welcoming many members of our community to our Grandparents and Special Person Day, held alongside our ANZAC Day assembly. It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and to witness the sense of connection and pride that filled our school throughout the morning.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed sharing this special occasion with you. They were incredibly proud to open their classrooms, showcase their learning and spend meaningful time with their grandparents and special visitors. Opportunities like this strengthen the partnership between home and school and create lasting memories for our children. I also want to acknowledge and thank our students for their outstanding show of respect during assembly. Their behaviour was impeccable so please take a moment to congratulate your child/ren on representing our school so proudly.
We extend our sincere thanks to Greg Roberts, who travelled over three hours to be part of the ceremony and play the bagpipes. Greg’s involvement came about through a heartfelt invitation from his grandson as part of a classroom writing task, and in true grandparent spirit, he made the journey to support our school. His contribution added a very special and authentic element to the assembly, and we are deeply grateful for his time and generosity. Thank you also to Andrew from Sunny Boyy vans for the warm beverages and hospitality.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank our School Captains, Annika, Walter, Abigail and Kira, along with their families, for representing our school at the Rosebud RSL ANZAC Day service. Their leadership and respect in commemorating this important occasion reflects the values we hold as a school community.
Thank you again to everyone who joined us for this special day. Your presence and support mean a great deal to our students and staff.
Snapshot of Learning
Jump Rope for Heart
Year 1 Buddy Reading
In Year 1, we are learning how to support each other during ‘Buddy Reading’. We sit knee to knee, listen while our buddy reads, take turns and help with word solving. We can give feedback “I liked how you sounded smooth!”, “Your character voice for Bear was fantastic!” and share our thoughts on the stories shared. Reading in the fresh air helps us to find a quiet place in our own space too.
Year 3 Students
Over the last two weeks, the Year 3 students have been exploring the features of 2D shapes and 3D objects. They have had a lot of fun working collaboratively to build 3D objects and create 3D structures with a variety of materials.
