Boneo Buzz:20th December
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for another wonderful and productive school year. I can’t thank everyone enough for your endless hours of volunteering, reading, organising, donating and doing whatever was necessary to support students – both at home and at school.
Special thanks to our parents who have contributed in ways small, large, and unimaginable! Thanks for getting your children to school on time each day and for helping your children with learning; the partnership between home and school is so important.
I would like to thank our hard working and caring staff who have made a huge difference to our students. Your commitment is outstanding. Thank you for providing rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences for our children and knowing that education is about joy, wonder and fostering curiosity; along with the development of social skills so needed for success. For these, and a million other things, we are truly grateful.
A final word to Boneo students. Thank you for all your hard work throughout the school year. I am so honoured to be your Principal; you make me proud, keep me laughing and young at heart. I am grateful for your joy, astute insights and amazing talents. Best wishes to our graduating Year 6 whom I will miss greatly – please come back and visit. Graduation was a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge your achievements and farewell the families who have made an outstanding contribution to our school. Thank you to:

Our New Year 5 Teacher
We are excited to announce that Ms Sarah Dalgleish has been appointed as the Year 5B classroom teacher. Sarah has created a short introductory paragraph for our community.
I am a passionate educator with experience teaching in a variety of settings. After many years studying and working in Psychology and teaching, I found my niche as a primary school teacher with a particular interest in student well-being. I’ve taught at schools in the city and here on the Mornington Peninsula. I have a young daughter and I love working at Boneo so I am thrilled to be joining the Boneo community in 2020.
Introducing our 2020 School House Leaders
On Tuesday, students in Years 3 to 6 gathered in House groups to hear candidate speeches and vote for the 2020 House Leaders. Our children take this responsibility seriously, and I am excited to announce the following 2020 House Leaders:
Green House – Jack Simmons and Archie Parker
Yellow House – Gracie Parker and Keenan Lord
Blue House – Brigitte Healey and Arun Dennis
Red House – Jake Waters and Asa Richmond
Working Bee
Preparation work has commenced for the construction of our new Outdoor Kitchen Learning Space, with a working bee held last Friday after school.
A very special thank you to Chris and Kate May for providing the excavation equipment and labour to get these works completed. The machinery certainly made the task more manageable for our volunteers.
We wish to also acknowledge the following parents for generously offering their time to assist; Lee Dixon, Leigh Beckett, Lauren Johansson, Owen and Rhiannon Goodwin, Nigel Dewar and Julie Mullenger. We truly appreciate you making time to help out at this busy time of the year.
Another parent, Jason Parkins, volunteered his expertise offering to repair our garden irrigation system. Jason spent a full day at school last Friday to ensure our system was operational for the coming holiday period. A very big Boneo thank you to Jason for his incredible efforts.
Our community is wonderful in their support of our school and we are constantly amazed by the offers of assistance received from both our parent and wider community.
