Boneo Buzz: Friday 25th February

Dear Parents and Carers,

There are numerous ways for parents and carers to engage with the school and contribute to the Boneo Primary School community. Representing the parent community as a member of the School Council is an important way to support the development of our school. School Council meets eight times a year and participate in one sub-committee. The annual School Council AGM is Tuesday 22nd March at 6:30pm.

We want to acknowledge and thank our retiring Council members:

  • Cathy Dika
  • Kate Cronin
  • Kym Curtis
  • Paul Hollway

I know you will join me in thanking these parents for their outstanding contribution to support the decision making at Boneo Primary School.

A huge thank you and congratulations to the following new 2022/2023 parent representatives on School Council:

  • Davey Smith
  • Melissa Ham
  • Briell O’Neill
  • Vanessa Smedley

DET Representatives:

  • Tom Pollett
  • Tim Robertson – our new ES Maintenance staff member

Let’s RECONNECT our Community

Family Food and Fun Night this coming Friday 4th March – 3:30 to 7:30.

Preparations are well underway for next week’s FF&FN. A big thank you to the wonderful team of volunteers who have generously offered their time to support this event. Fundraising is vital for us to continue providing our students with the very best learning opportunities but this year we really need an opportunity to celebrate and have some fun as a community. Proceeds from our 2022 FF&FN will be used to establish a Student Radio Station and revamp the student play equipment.

Rosters have been placed outside classrooms or email your child’s teacher. Shifts are only 30 minutes in duration, giving families plenty of time to enjoy the festivities.

Next Friday, will be a ‘Lucky JarFree Dress’ day.

Wrist Bands are $25 and will be on sale Monday. Individual ride tickets will be available on the night.

Please remember all children need to be accompanied by an adult. Email your child’s teacher if they will be in the care of another adult.

We are incredibly thankful to the following organisations for their generous support of our school;

SILENT AUCTION – We need items for the FF&FN silent auction. This has traditionally been a very popular stall and we are asking all families to secure an item towards the auction.

Junior School Council

Today at Assembly we acknowledged our Years 6 Leaders and introduced the 2022 Junior School Council. We are so impressed that each class had many children prepare a speech and apply for this position. We encourage the children to put themselves forward for opportunities as it is a wonderful way to build resilience.
