Boneo Buzz: 9th October

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are so excited to welcome all of our students back onsite Monday. We have made no changes to school times or schedules. Parents are to remain in their vehicles at drop off and pick up times. Staff will be out in the yard and on the oval before and after school to support students as they transition back to school. Sorry for the inconvenience but can I ask all parents to remain vigilant and abide by DET guidelines which outlines that only staff are to be onsite at this stage.

As a community, Boneo has so much to celebrate. The coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown is an unprecedented situation and we can be so proud of our efforts to rally in the best interests of our children. Parents, extended family and teachers are closer now than never before. We understand that some students may have mixed emotions about the transition. The majority of our children are so excited to return but some may find this transition challenging or stressful; however, we are committed to supporting each individual fully. Schools and teachers are trained to support pupils through the challenges they face in life. It is hard to fully gauge the true impact that the situation has and is having on children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. We have spent much time planning specific actions we will take to further support our students as they transition back to onsite learning.

We will focus on the following:

  • Re-connecting – teacher to student, student to student
  • Re-establishing routines and structures to make days predictable
  • Ready to Learn each morning to start our days
  • Focus on social connections and collaboration
  • Re-building learning stamina
  • Physical health and movement
  • Practice gratitude

Please do not hesitate to make contact if you have any concerns about your child/ren’s return to onsite learning.
