Boneo Buzz: 5th August

Parents and Carers,

Today Marija and I were humbled by the overwhelming acknowledgement from staff, students and parents for National Principal Day. To be honest, we feel so fortunate to be apart of this wonderful community. Our work on a daily basis is pure joy because of the outstanding teachers that foster a love of learning in our students. Our students are exceptional young people. Nothing thrills us more than to hear them speak at assembly about their challenges and achievements. To cap off a wonderful morning, Year 6 students invited Marija and I to a presentation, delivering compelling reasons why they want to tweek our Wellbeing Friday afternoon activities. They have devised an outstanding plan to grow this program. We left the room strong in the knowledge that if you empower students they do exceptional things.

School Council considered the Expressions of Interests from providers of Out of School Care (OSHC) programs and are excited to share that our school has partnered with an independent provider called TheirCare to provide exceptional Outside School Hours Care services for our school community.

The program is available for all children at Boneo Primary School from 6:45am until 8.30am in the morning and from 3:15pm until 6:00pm each school day.

During School Holidays & Pupil Free Days the service will operate from 6:45am until 6:00pm.

Families are eligible for a Government Rebate called the Child Care Subsidy which can reduce the cost per session by up to 85%.

Beginning in Term 4, TheirCare will offer Before and After school care along with Pupil Free Care.

In 2023, we will expand the offering to a Holiday Program beginning in April.

Prep – Detectives for a Day

Our Preps were very excited to learn about the roles Police Officers play in our community, when they were visited by members of Victoria Police on Thursday.
