Boneo Buzz: 2nd June
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our students from Years 3 to 6 have been absolutely thrilled with the addition of the Ninja Playground to our school, and it has quickly become a favourite place for many.
One thing that has surprised me is their incredible capacity to climb the high wall. Our older students have shown remarkable skill and agility in navigating the equipment, which is truly impressive to witness.
However, I want to emphasise the importance of safety and responsible usage of the Ninja Playground, especially when it comes to our younger children. While the equipment provides an exciting and challenging experience, it is not appropriate for the younger children to use without proper supervision.
To ensure the well-being of all our students, it is crucial that school staff, including before and after school, supervise the younger children when they are using the Ninja Playground. The climbing wall and other elements are designed for the physical capabilities and developmental levels of the older students, and we must prioritise their safety and prevent any accidents or injuries.
I kindly request your support in reinforcing this message with your children at home. It is important that they understand the need for supervision and adhere to the guidelines provided by their teachers and the school staff.
Curriculum Day reminder
On Tuesday 13th June, we are having a Curriculum Day where staff will be busy doing a full audit of our Units of Inquiry to ensure we are covering all areas of the Victorian Curriculum.
Professional Practice Days
The Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2022 provide teachers with two professional practice days in 2023 and one professional practice day in 2024 and beyond. As a school, our staff work together to ensure minimal impact on the students. Over the coming two weeks our staff will have one of their two allocated days for the year. They will be busy assessing individual students and sending out Learning Task notifications.
GO PINK!
GO PINK brings the community together each June to make a proud pink pledge and raise funds for game-changing breast cancer research. This will help fund world-class breast cancer research in Australia including effective prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer. This much-needed research has the potential to save thousands of lives. On Thursday 22nd June we ask all children to dress up in pink clothing and bring a gold coin donation to support this research. Let’s ‘Go Pink’ to save lives!
