Boneo Buzz: 28th October

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for acknowledging our wonderful teachers on World Teachers’ Day. Our teachers are making a difference to the lives of young people every day. World Teachers’ Day 2022 is celebrated across Australia on Friday 28 October.

Reminders for the coming weeks:

  • Monday is Curriculum Day and a pupil free day for students. Our teachers will be working on curriculum development and assessment.
  • We have a Working Bee on Friday 11th November beginning at 2:30pm to 6pm. All parents, grandparents and carers are welcome. We plan to weed and replant major areas of the school
  • Please contact me if you are able to assist with building a small screen in front of the veggie patch to hide the composting system.
  • Keep collecting sponsors for the Colour Run on Thursday 17th November.

Oaks Day Fundraising Event

Thank you!

The office is full to overflowing with donated items as we head into the final countdown to our Oaks Day fundraiser. Our Boneo and extended community is absolutely amazing.

We look forward to hosting 120 guests at the National on Thursday and our fingers are crossed for a  successful day.

The fabulous Conchi and team from Zarb&Ru have joined our major sponsor list, very generously overloading Amanda and Stella with vouchers and an incredible array of locally produced goods. An amazing contribution. Thank you Zarb&Ru!

To those attending on the day, we hope you are as excited as we are to reconnect and celebrate our very special community.

For those who wish to continue the festivities, we will be heading to McDaids in Rosebud. Limited Boneo Bus seats available.

Year 6 – ‘Passions Pop Up’

The Year 6 students are so excited to present their market ‘The Passions Pop Up’ on Thursday 3 November. The planning for the market was a rigorous process, with the students presenting an elevator pitch to the cohort in a ‘Shark Tank’ experience. The items they are making relate directly to their personality, which is our Inquiry focus for Term 4. The Year 6 students are busy making their products and organising their advertising/marketing for the big day. There is a broad range of items for sale to cater to everybody’s personal taste, and the items will be priced between $1 to $5. The Year 6 students are so excited to run this market for their fellow students, so make sure to bring some money in two weeks time to join in the fun!

We are three weeks out from our School Fun Run! We hope students are working hard towards their fundraising goals!

Currently we have raised $10,600 of our $30,000, so there is a way to go and I hope you’ll keep supporting us! Remember, the money raised will be going towards renewing our senior school playground.

Did you know that you can WIN a $20,000 Ultimate Family Package by setting up your student profile online and raising $1 online? Just head over to schoolfunrun.com.au. Once you’ve created your page there are some great things you can do. You can sign up for online fundraising, pick your target prize and even become a fundraising superstar!

If you’re having any trouble setting up your student profile or fundraising online, please get in touch with the Fun Run team on 1800 FUN RUN.

Thanks for supporting us with your fundraising efforts, we look forward to celebrating with an amazing day!
