Boneo Buzz: 28th June

Friday 28th June, 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As Term 2 draws to a close I would like to wish all families a relaxing holiday break. The two week holiday is an ideal opportunity for students to recharge their batteries, reflect on what they have achieved so far and start planning for Term 3. Throughout the term, staff have concentrated on developing a ‘Learning Culture’ in our students. We have emphasized the importance of students accepting responsibility for their learning and focused on the need for staff and students to work together as learning partners. After reading student reports, it is obvious that students have worked diligently to achieve to the best of their abilities. Please enjoy reading your child’s Semester 1 report which can be accessed via Compass.

Once again a huge thank you to our community for your outstanding support of our Boneo Colour Fun Run. We are currently finalising the donations. Planning is underway with the intention of completing our outdoor kitchen and pizza oven by the end of Term 3. If you have skill in this area or know of any community members who could assist, please let me know.

Winter Lightning Premiership

Boneo competed in the Winter Lightning Premierships, last Wednesday in four sports.

The boys and girls soccer team showed great skill and determination with the Boys ‘A’ team progressing through to the Division finals next term. The Boys ‘B’ team finished second in their section with the Girls teams both finishing third in their respective divisions.

The boys’ football team unfortunately lost the final of the small schools division and finished second.

The two girls’ netball teams played hard all day, with the ‘A’ team playing Sorrento in the Grand Final. Unfortunately, Sorrento won a tough battle with our girls. The good news is that our girls have progressed through to the division playoffs, as Sorrento are unable to attend.

The T-Ball team, finished in a tie with Sorrento at the end of the day. Unfortunately, for Boneo, Sorrento won on percentage. However, the team will progress as Sorrento cannot attend the finals.
