Boneo Buzz: 26th November

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe that we only have three weeks left of the 2021 school year. Classes are working incredibly hard and will continue to focus on learning and enjoying their time back onsite.

As a school, we continue to prioritise the health and safety of all of our community. Whilst some of the measures in place cause a level of inconvenience they are absolutely supporting us to manage the current situation.

Colour Run Friday 3rd December

A huge thankyou to all of our families who have registered to support this major fundraiser for our school. The children will come to school on Friday in old clothes and wear runners for the event. The Classes will be running in the afternoon, at staggered times. Due to the current climate parents will be unable to run with the children.

Working Bee Friday 3rd December

Please come and join us at 3:30pm for a WORKING BEE.

We need your help with the following:

  • Planting around the portables
  • Weeding and replanting in the veggie garden
  • Planting and edging outside the artroom and staffroom
  • Cleaning our new outdoor kitchen
  • Moving all cooking equipment from the Hall to our outdoor kitchen cupboards and label tubs

All volunteers will need to be double vaccinated.

Christmas Carols Picnic Thursday 7th December Update

With health and safety in mind, we have moved our Carols Picnic online. Students will receive a special Christmas pack to bring home for the evening. Our Year 6 students will lead the event online as one of their final leadership opportunities. Ms Sison has filmed classes singing carols and will share this link so that families can enjoy this to conclude the evening.

COVID Update

We have had no positive cases reported this week. If you or your child/ren are identified as a close contact please notify the school and have a PCR Covid test.

Please note that in the instance a positive case is identified as having been at school the following actions take place;

  1. The Department of Education are notified
  2. A case manager is assigned and confirms all details.
  3. The school is advised to commence actions that includes identifying and informing school-based contacts, ensures cleaning has taken place.

Any child who has been a school-based contact, parents will be notified via email, and the student will require a PCR test and a negative result prior to returning to school.

I would like to thank our community very much for their ongoing support and management at this continued time of challenge. We are working tirelessly to balance providing our normal program along with prioritising the health and wellbeing of our community.
