Boneo Buzz: 23rd June

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we end another eventful term, I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude and share some of the remarkable events and accomplishments that have unfolded over the past few months. We can be so proud of our students and teachers.

150th Anniversary Celebrations:

This term marked a significant milestone in our school’s history as we proudly celebrated our 150th Anniversary. The evening celebration gave us the chance to bring together students, staff past and present, and the wider community. From our special assembly and historical exhibitions, the 150th anniversary celebration showcased the rich heritage and traditions of our wonderful school.

New Ninja Playground:

The children were excited by the completion of our much-anticipated Ninja Playground project. With the aim of promoting physical activity and providing a safe yet exhilarating space for our students, the playground is equipped with state-of-the-art obstacles, challenging courses, and an area for parkour enthusiasts. Our students have enthusiastically embraced this new addition, and it has quickly become a hub of active play, fostering teamwork, coordination, and a spirit of adventure.

Upgrades to the Grounds:

Recognising the importance of a nurturing environment, we have undertaken significant upgrades to our school gardens. The serene and vibrant spaces now feature enhanced landscaping, new seating areas, and interactive elements, creating an ideal setting for relaxation, exploration and learning. The gardens have become popular gathering spots during breaks and serve as outdoor classrooms, where students can connect with nature and deepen their understanding of the environment.

Inter-School Sport:

This term, witnessed the tremendous dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship of our students in Years 4 to 6 in various events representing Boneo with pride. Through healthy competition, our students have not only honed their physical skills but also learned valuable life lessons about teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Outstanding Attitude to School Survey Results:

We recently conducted the Attitude to School Survey to assess the overall sentiment and engagement of our Years 4 to 6 students. I am thrilled to share that the survey results were overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the outstanding attitude and enthusiasm our students have towards their education and the school community. We take immense pride in nurturing an environment where students feel supported, valued, and motivated to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Summary of positive endorsement results:

Effective Teaching 93%

Differentiated Learning Challenge 94%

Stimulated Learning 96%

High Expectations for Success 98%

Sense of Inclusion 96%

Life Satisfaction 91%

Managing Bullying 92%

As we approach the well-deserved Winter break, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to our dedicated teachers, staff, and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to create an exceptional learning environment for our students. I also extend my gratitude to our supportive parents and guardians for their unwavering trust and partnership in our collective mission of providing an outstanding education.

Wishing everyone a safe and rejuvenating holiday. We eagerly look forward to welcoming our students back in Term 3.

Warmest regards,

Mandy
