Colour Run Fundraiser
Wow, what an outstanding response we have had from our community. We are getting close to the $20,000 target for this fundraiser. Log onto the following link to create a profile for your child so that they do not miss out on selecting a prize. We are all looking forward to Friday. Please note, at this stage due to restrictions, parents will be unable to join us this year. We promise to take lots of pictures for you.
2021 Planning
I can confirm the following structure will be in place for next year:
2 Prep classes, 2 Year 1 classes, 3 Year 2 classes, 2 Year 3 classes, 3 Year 4 classes, 2 Year 5 classes and 2 Year 6 classes. Art, Music, Physical Education and STEM specialist classes will also be in place.
Over the coming weeks we will be finalising staffing and I will be in a position to share teacher placement prior to Step Up Day on Wednesday 16th December.
Term 4 has been a critical time to re-engage our students and re-establish school routines necessary to prepare our students for a successful transition into 2021.
The Department of Education and Training have focused our efforts on a set of core priorities: the most important things our school system must deliver over the remainder of this year and into 2021.
Our school leadership team (SIT) are currently working on developing the 2021 Annual Implementation Plan around the following 3 key priorities:
Learning catch-up and extension: We will support all students who need it to catch up and those who have thrived to continue to extend their learning.
Happy, active and healthy kids: We will make sure we look after our students’ mental health and enable every student to get back outdoors, get active and get creative. This means effectively mobilising available resources to support our students.
Connected schools: We will build on the stronger connections that we have established with families, carers and our community through 2020 to embed and spread improved ways of working to support our students.
Sustainable Art
For the Year 5/6 T.R.E.C. project we are collecting items to create sustainable artwork. To help us, please bring these items to school:
Bottle Caps, Jar & Bottle Lids, Plastic Bottles and CD’s
Boneo School Fun Run
On Friday 27th November all students will be participating in our annual School Fun Run. This was a fabulous success last year with all students having a wonderful day. Please use the following link to create your student profile page; schoolfundraising.com.au
Snapshot of Learning
2021 Prep Transition Sessions
This week, we invited our future Foundation students for small group transition sessions. It was wonderful to finally host the 2021 Preps. The children loved visiting the classroom setting and spending time with our Foundation staff exploring the school.
We look forward to welcoming our Foundation students and families to Boneo Primary School in 2021.
Lunchtime Clubs
This week, the Craft Club created beautiful mandalas with wool. Using this time to practice mindfulness and enjoying time to chat on the blue rug together.
Mrs Dewar made the perfect ‘Sugar Skull’ for our Creative Arts Club. The students picked out the brushes to use and which products would be best. Their terminology is continuing to grow, and their creative abilities on paper face charts and real people is unbelievable.
