Boneo Buzz: 1st March

Dear Parents and Carers,

Upcoming School Council Elections

Parents who become active on School Council find their involvement satisfying and may also find that their children feel a greater sense of belonging and engagement. Each year, approximately half of the School Council retires to allow new members to become involved. To this end, we are now formally calling for nominations for the 2024/2026 Boneo Primary School Council. Membership on the council is for a period of two years and meetings are held on the second or third Tuesday of each month. Please come and have a chat if you are interested in joining.

In 2024, we have 4 parent vacancies and 1 DET vacancy on School Council for a full period of two years.

Nomination forms may be obtained from the school and must be lodged by Friday 8th March.

The annual School Council General meeting is being held on Tuesday 19th March where office bearers will be elected.

Lucky Jar Day Wednesday 6th March

On Wednesday 6th March students are asked to wear free dress (not school uniform) in exchange for donating a Lucky Jar. The jar should be filled with something that would appeal to children. Some ideas for jar fillers are; small toys, stationery, coins, hair ties, marbles etc. We encourage you to be creative. The children absolutely love this stall.
Lollies are acceptable but please make sure that they are in individual wrappers or place the unopened packet in the jar (this is for health reasons). The jar may be of any size from a large coffee jar to a jam jar.
The jars are then sold through a lucky dip system at our FFFN for $2.

Special Pizza Lunch

On Friday 8th March we are offering a ‘Special Pizza Lunch’ where students can order a 1/4 pizza –  Ham and Pineapple or Margarita. Notices have gone home with students today, Friday 2nd March. Preps will receive their forms on Monday. Please return your completed order with payments in a named envelope by 3.15pm Tuesday 5th March.

Our business community have again been amazing in their support of our school.

We wish to acknowledge ‘The Kitchen’ in Tootgarook (Coley Family) who are returning for another year on the Curry Stall. Bob and his staff are preparing the food and will be in attendance on the night for service. Please be sure to say hi to the ‘Kitchen’ team who will be located in the hall and thank them for supporting our school.

A huge thank you to Their Care for offering to sponsor the BBQ stall on the evening, they have generously offered to supply the burgers and sausages.

We would also like to thank Brad Hillbrick and his band the ‘Shaggy Greens’ for coming back for another year! They will be entertaining us from 5.30pm on the oval. Grab your picnic blanket, dinner, gather with friends and enjoy the music.
