Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope this newsletter finds you well and that your child has had a successful and fulfilling term. As we approach the end of term, we would like to share some important information and notify you of upcoming events.

End-of-Term Reminders:

Semester Reports: The semester reports for your child will be accessible through COMPASS on Thursday at 4pm. These reports will provide you with a comprehensive overview of your child’s progress and achievements throughout the semester.

Continuous Reporting via Learning Tasks on Compass. This semester, parents will have a summary of all Learning Task Assessments administered in Reading, Writing/Spelling, Mathematics and Inquiry. The main benefits of using continuous reporting is the timely manner in which parents are informed of their child’s achievement. It is often seen as ‘too late’ at the end-of-semester for a parent to be formally notified of how their child is progressing.

Student Led Conferences: Mark your calendars for the Student Led Conferences scheduled on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th July. During these conferences, your child will showcase their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and share their achievements. It will be an excellent chance for you to see firsthand the growth and development of your child.

Early Finish Time on Friday: We would like to inform you that we will be concluding the term at 2:15 PM on Friday 23rd June. Please make the necessary arrangements to ensure your child is picked up or has appropriate transportation at the adjusted finishing time.

Swimming: Years 5/6 Week 1 and Years 3/4 Week 2

Snow Camp: Years 4 to 6 – Sunday 13th to Friday 18th August VSL Ski Club Mt Buller

Depart Sunday from Tootgarook Primary School. $1200 each person to attend, student or parent. This includes ski hire equipment, lift tickets, daily lesson and accommodation.

Itinerary:

Sunday – travel to Mt Buller, Ski Patrol Visit, get ski/snowboard equipment/tickets and settle into the lodge
Monday – Skiing/snowboard lesson and skiing through the day
Tuesday – Skiing/snowboard lesson and skiing through the day
Wednesday – Skiing/snowboard lesson and skiing through the day
Thursday – Skiing/snowboard lesson and skiing through the day
Friday – Skiing/snowboard through the day, pack up and arrive back at 5pm at Tootgarook PS.

This is a much-loved opportunity for students and parents so please contact the Office to secure a place by paying a $200 deposit.

Accessible Carparking Spaces: Please only park in the accessible carparking spaces if you hold a current permit.

GO PINK Thursday 22nd June

Let’s ALL wear pink on Thursday. We ask all students to bring a gold coin donation. All staff will be wearing a touch of pink. This event brings the community together each June to make a proud pink pledge and raise funds for game-changing breast cancer research. This will help fund world-class breast cancer research in Australia including effective prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer. This much-needed research has the potential to save thousands of lives.
