Boneo Buzz: 14th August

 Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is important to recognise that we are currently living through a unique period in time and to look for the opportunities this brings. Our opportunity at this moment, lies in helping our children to take note of the good things and celebrate the small successes so that we can build on these when we are all back together.

Riding this corona coaster and navigating the ups and downs of the current reality may prove confronting for some people. In the coming weeks, it will be vital for adult carers to reduce the stress levels at home and make life seem more manageable. We are here to support you so please reach out if you need any assistance.

As an adult carer, it will also be essential to look after your own wellbeing during this time. Ensure you make time to de-escalate your own nervous system and maintain your sleep routine, healthy eating habits, get some regular exercise and reach out virtually to friends, family or school.

In this Special Report provided by SchoolTV, families are encouraged to embrace the guidance offered to help minimise the impact of this corona coaster. We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this Special Report, and as always, we welcome your feedback.

If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact the school for further information or seek medical or professional help.

Outdoor Kitchen Update

We are excited to share some images showcasing the progress of our outdoor kitchen. It is very exciting and we are looking forward to our first cook up.

Due to the current restriction, landscaping is on hold until we progress to Stage 3

Snapshot of Learning this Week

Remote Learning – Inquiry

This week was an exciting week for our Boneo families as our Arcade Game Challenge was completed.

Students from Prep to Year 6 worked with their families to create a simulation of an arcade game. To celebrate their achievements, we would like to publish photos and videos of the arcade games on our ‘Boneo Family Challenge’ website.

Please send these into Ms. Trezise with a description of the game and how it is played. A link to the website can be found on Compass, in the resource section under the Inquiry folder.

We will still be holding a whole school ‘Timezone Day’  when the students return to school.  Here is an example from Lyla of 1B who created a mini golf game with her family.
